Happy Feet

Happy Feet is an American- Australian computer animated film by George Miller from the year 2006.

Action

The film tells the story of the emperor penguin Mumble. Since his father Memphis slips the egg from the legs and thus is exposed to the cold for some time, Mumble can not sing. But he can sew and thus applies to the other penguins as an outsider, but the female Gloria brings to meet him sympathy.

Mumble meets a different penguin species whose members appreciate his dancing skills.

With these he embarks on a search for people who are referred to as " aliens ". Together with the Adelie Penguin Ramon and his colleagues, he seeks to answer the question of why the stocks of fish were lower. He is washed up on a beach. When he wakes up, he finds himself with other penguins in a zoo. When he begins to dance in front of a girl behind the glass wall, he attracted the attention of other visitors. He returns to the emperor penguins with a transmitter on the back, which leads people to him. James Berardinelli praised ReelViews on the " realistic " acting drawings of penguins and the " spontaneity " and " humor" by Robin Williams. He wrote that the film's "ingredients " for a " great movie " did, but leave the right way before the end. Berardinelli would indeed recommend the movie, but not as " enthusiastic " as he would want it.

" The entertaining animated film is created as a musical and comedy type, where it occupies a remarkably skeptical ecological attitude. He is expected to reach small moviegoers only conditionally, but pedagogical follow-up is recommended for a [ ... ]. "

Awards

The film won the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature Film at the Academy Awards 2007. He won in 2006 for the soundtrack to the Golden Trailer Award and in 2007 for the film song The Song of the Heart ( performed by Prince) Golden Globe Award.

Background

The film animation was done in Australia. The cost of production was estimated at 85 million U.S. dollars. The film opened in theaters in the USA on 17 November 2006 and played its opening weekend about 41.5 million U.S. dollars. The German theatrical release took place on 30 November 2006. For the German version, among others, Ben Becker (voice of Lovelace ) and Rick Kavanian (voice of Ramón ) could be obtained.

Continuation

In January 2010 it was announced that a sequel will be shot for the film. Matt Damon, P! Nk and Brad Pitt have for the English version lent their voices. Happy Feet 2 was released in Germany on 1 December 2011.
