Anthony LaPaglia

Anthony LaPaglia ( born January 31, 1959 in Adelaide, South Australia ) is an Australian actor.

Life

His father is Italian and his mother Dutch. Anthony is the oldest of three brothers, the youngest of whom, Jonathan LaPaglia, is also an actor.

He left Australia and moved to the U.S., where he first worked as a teacher and doing odd jobs perceived that all was not satisfied with it. At the age of 25, he started acting. His breakthrough came in here in a Broadway play called Bouncer, in which he played eight different characters. The highlight of his theater career reached LaPaglia in 1998 with the Tony Award for best actor performance in the revival of Arthur Miller's A View from the Bridge.

He had numerous guest appearances on television series before 1988 he received his first lead role in a movie. Since then he turns in both the U.S. and Australia. He worked alongside numerous thrillers often with in ensemble and independent films as Slaves of New York by James Ivory, Empire Records, Steve Buscemi's directorial debut, Trees Lounge, Spike Lee's Summer of Sam, Woody Allen's Sweet and Lowdown, the costume drama The House of Mirth, The Salton Sea. In Cuba Libre he put Fidel Castro dar. to Australian films, in which he participated include the coming-of- age film The Secret of Alibrandis and Lantana. In the detective series Murder One and Without a Trace - Without a trace he plays major roles, a recurring supporting role he took over in Frasier.

Since 1998, he is married to Gia Carides. 2003, the daughter Bridget was born. He is also still co-owner of the football club Sydney FC and president of the U.S. Amateur football club Hollywood United FC
