Billy Bat

Billy Bat (Japaneseビリー バット) is a manga series by Naoki Urasawa and the Japanese artist Takashi Nagasaki, which appears in Japan since 2008.

Content

The Japanese-American comic book artist Kevin Yamagata (山 县 金 持, Yamagata Kinji ) records in 1949 a comic book with the hero "Billy Bat", an anthropomorphic bat. But when he realizes that he has seen this figure before in Japan, he travels there to the original author to ask for permission to be allowed to use Billy Bat. Once in Japan, he soon learns that behind the figure lies a long history and is soon drawn into this self.

Publication

The manga is published in separate chapters in the magazine Weekly Morning of the publisher Kodansha in Japan since October 2008. The chapters were also published in twelve collected volumes so far. Planeta DeAgostini brings out a Spanish translation and Sharp Point Press licensed the series for Taiwan. Since October of 2012 published the Carlsen publishing a German translation, so far with six volumes.

The anthologies sold in Japan each over 90,000 times, in some cases almost 150,000 times.
