Billy Henderson (American singer)

Billy Henderson ( born August 9, 1939 in Daytona Beach, † February 2, 2007 ) was an American soul singer and songwriter.

Curriculum vitae

Born as William Henderson, he had his greatest success as a member of the soul group The Spinners. One of their hits was "I'll Be Around" in 1972 in America in the Top 10, he founded the band along with four high school friends in 1954. Nominated for six Grammy Awards, The Spinners, the second black soul group were a have received star on the "Hollywood Walk of Fame". More recently, Billy Henderson wanted to perform with three other original members again, but after he had sued the manager of the group, he was forced to leave the band. Henderson died in a nursing home in Daytona Beach after it came to complications from his diabetes. Married to Barbara Henderson leaves Billy Henderson three children.
