The deer Berger Bach, called in its upper reaches to the Bilstein Bilstein cave creek, is a 9.5 km long, south and orographic right tributary of Shor Bach in North Rhine -Westphalia. The creek flows only a small piece in Hochsauerlandkreis and then in the territory of the district of Soest belonging Warstein.
Course
The Bilstein creek rises in the Arnsberg Forest Nature Park about 1.2 km west of the mountain pass vocal strain. Its approximately 547 m above sea level. NN lying source and the first approximately 750 m flow path are in the field of Meschede in Hochsauerlandkreis.
Entirely in Arnsberg Forest Nature Park and initially in northeastern directions smoothly the stream turns on Huxborn north. Then it flows to the northeast. At Bilstein rocks of the creek disappears into swallowing holes. After about 300 m underground way it occurs in two sources to the surface again. From here it is called Hirschberg Bach.
Next fluent in predominantly northerly flows the creek about 1 km west of Warstein to about 295 m above sea level. NN in the Wester- Bach inflow Shors.
Bed slope and catchment area
With a height difference of 252 m, the average bed slope of the Hirschberg Bach is 26.5 ‰. The 11.144 km ² large catchment area is drained by Shors Bach, Wester, Möhne, Ruhr and Rhine to the North Sea.
Attractions
In the valley are the Bilstein show cave and three other culture caves.
