Bingham Peak

Bingham is an acute peak 1540 m high summit, which is about 2.5 nautical miles ( 4.6 km ) southeast of the Springer Peak in the Webers Peaks in the West Antarctic Heritage Range.

At Bingham peak were found by expeditions spot fossils, including trilobites and mollusks from the Late Cambrian.

Bingham peak was mapped by the United States Geological Survey as part of the compilation of Ellsworthgebirges in the years 1961-66 by site surveys and aerial photographs of the United States Navy. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named him after Joseph P. Bingham, an auroral researchers in 1965 on the American research station worked Eights station.
