Bingling Temple

The Binglingsi Temple or the Binglingsi Grottoes (Chinese炳灵寺 石窟/炳灵寺 石窟, Pinyin Binglingsi si Shiku, Binglingsi Grottoes ') with its caves of Ten Thousand Buddhas is a cave temple complex on the north shore of the reservoir at the Liujiaxia Yellow River in the district of Yongjing the Linxia Hui Autonomous Prefecture of China's Gansu province. They are about 80 km from Lanzhou, capital of Gansu province, and can be reached only by boat.

The first cave was built around 420 at the end of the Jin Dynasty ( 265-420 ). Today there are 183 caves with a total of 694 stone statues and 82 clay figures in various sizes.

The cave temple is located since 1961 in the list of monuments of the People's Republic of China ( 1-39 ).
