Binomial
A binomial (Latin bi, two, nomen, name, that name goes back to Euclid ) is in mathematics, a polynomial with two terms, or more precisely: A binomial is the sum or difference of two monomials. For example,
Binomials. The term is not a binomial, but the square of a binomial.
Calculation rules
For the multiplication of two binomials, the following rules apply, with associative and distributive:
Verbal formulated: Multiply each term of the first binomial ( the first clip) with each term of the second binomial ( the second clip).
The following special cases are known as binomial formulas:
The binomial theorem provides a representation for arbitrarily high powers of a binomial:
The coefficients are called binomial coefficients and can be defined by this formula.
