Biot (crater)

13:01

Biot is a small bowl-shaped impact crater in the southern reaches of Mare Fecunditatis. It lies north of Vallis Snell and northwest of the crater Wrottesley.

The edge of Biot is almost circular and the sharp-edged crater rim has only slight traces of erosion on. The inner crater walls fall evenly on a relatively small crater bottom. You have a higher albedo than the surrounding Mare, which gives them a bright appearance.

In the Charles A. Wood and Leif Andersson 1978 formulated and applied classification not eroded and reshaped crater Biot is the type specimen for the designated BIO form bowl-shaped crater with clearly contrasting soil.
