Birthe Rønn Hornbech

Birthe Johanne Sparrevohn Rønn Hornbech ( born October 18, 1943 in Copenhagen) is a Danish politician and Member of the Folketing for the right-wing liberal party Venstre. From 2007 to 2011 she was Minister for Refugees, Immigration, Integration and affairs of churches.

Hornbech has a degree in law from the University of Copenhagen from 1971. Subsequently, she went to Roskilde to the police, where it was in 1981 promoted to Vice Poli Timester. In 1984 she was first elected to the Folketing.

Hornbech is known for their own views and fell several times in opposition to their party leadership; for example, they voted against an increase of public surveillance. After the general election in 2007, she was Minister, although she had previously rejected a number of times such a post.

In early 2011 she became as Minister for Integration into the center of a public dispute, when it turned out that with their knowledge young stateless Palestinians illegally Danish citizenship had been denied. In early March 2011, she was dismissed from office.
