Bishopric of Reval

The Diocese of Reval was founded in 1219 by the Danish king Valdemar II in Livonia. The diocese was subordinate to the archbishop of Lund, encompassing the northern Estonia.

The Bishop of Reval had no worldly dominion, but was in 1521 Imperial Prince. 1561 the Reformation was introduced and dissolved the diocese.
