Björn Mehnert

Björn Mehnert ( born August 24, 1976 in Dortmund ) is a former German football player and current football coach.

Björn Mehnert played since the age of seven football at the DJK Sportfreunde Nice. Since the C- youth, he played for Borussia Dortmund. With the B- youth, he was once with the A- youth twice German masters of this age group. Mehnert began his professional football career also at Borussia Dortmund, where he had 1997/98, three appearances in the Bundesliga in the season and was replaced on 11 March 1998 in the second leg of the UEFA Super Cup in 1997 for Michael Zorc. Thereafter, he moved to LR Ahlen, but in 2000 he again went for two years to Borussia Dortmund. Mehnert changed in 2002/ 03 to Wuppertal SV Borussia, where he played until the winter break 2006/ 07. He then played for half a season in Preußen Münster in the big leagues before he moved to Wuppertal SV Borussia again. Here he assumed alongside his work as a player, the role of the coach Assistants of the second team. For the 2009/10 season Mehnert went to Westfalia Rhynern. There he worked as an assistant coach. From the season 2010/11 he joined the SV Hohenlimburg as player-coach. In addition, he studied sports marketing, and created video analysis for the second division VfL Osnabrück. Since summer 2011, Mehnert is player-coach of the first team of Westfalia Rhynern and there is the successor to Michael Lusch.

Mehnert graduated three games in the first Bundesliga ( no goals) and 190 games in the Regional ( eleven goals).
