Bjørn Watt-Boolsen
Bjørn Watt - Boolsen ( born June 20, 1923 in Rudkøbing, † December 28, 1998 in Frederiksberg) was a Danish actor, theater director and film director.
Life
Watt Boolsen received his acting training from 1942 to 1944 at the Drama School of the Royal Theatre (Det Kongelige Teaters elevskole ) in Copenhagen. In 1943 he made his stage debut he overflødig by Knud Sønderby in En Kvinde. In the 1950s he became one of the leading theater personalities of Denmark; 1959 to 1971 he headed the Copenhagen Folketeatret as director. Then he remained until his death a freelance actor, director and spokesperson.
Since its formation played watt Boolsen in about 50 film and television productions. Great popularity in Denmark who became known as Colonel Hachel in the television series Matador. In the films of the Olsen Gang, he was seen regularly from 1974 onwards as a powerful, ruthless opponent of the gang to their gang leader Egon Olsen. Occasionally he participated also in foreign productions, at about 1971 in the Swedish-American psychological thriller The eerie visitor or 1991 on ZDF - TV movie Linda.
His last film role was in 1998 in The (really) very last stroke of the Olsen Gang. The premiere of the film he was on 18 December 1998 - ten days before his death - for health reasons not to attend.
Family
From 1947 until his death in was ( mostly known from the television series Oh, these tenants! ) Married Bjørn Watt - Boolsen with actress Lis Løwert. Both were fellow students at the drama school.
