Black Buttes

The extinct and eroded stratovolcano Black Buttes (which means as much as black tip ) is part of the Cascade Range on the west coast of North America and is located in the northern part of the U.S. state of Washington. On Colfax peak it reaches a height of 2877 m.

Its last eruption is likely to be 500000-300000 years ago. The about 30,000 -year-old volcano Mount Baker sits on the edge of the Black Buttes.

There are other volcanoes in the United States, the Black Butte hot, one in Oregon and one in California.
