Black Forest Open Air Museum

The Black Forest Open Air Museum in Gutach is the oldest open-air museum in Baden-Württemberg. It represents the life of the people living and working in the Black Forest in the last centuries

Description

The museum takes its name from Vogtsbauernhof standing since 1612 at this point and its owner was around 1650 Talvogt in Gutach. With this Black Forest House Hermann Schilli 1963 he founded the museum. Over the years, more farms were added, which were dismantled at their original location and rebuilt in the museum Vogtsbauernhof:

This is supplemented by numerous functional buildings such as mills, stores, bakeries and saws. On the approximately 5.5 -acre site of the museum also farm animals live old races.

To the Event the Black Forest Open Air Museum Vogtsbauernhof include daily milling demonstrations, craft demonstrations, special tours, hands-on programs for children and families, as well as issues and activity days.

The museum is open daily from late March to early November.

The museum is located in Gutach ( Black Forest Railway ) ( Ortenaukreis ) in the middle of the Black Forest. The museum is located directly on the B 33 between Offenburg (connection to the A 5) and Villingen- Schwenningen ( at A 81). By train you can reach the museum with the Black Forest Railway over the station Hausach (3 km walk).
