Black Lake (Fond du Lac River, Saskatchewan)

Black Lake is a lake in the catchment area of the Mackenzie River in the north of the Canadian province of Saskatchewan.

The lake has a water surface of 428 km ² and a total area of 464 square kilometers including islands. The length of the lake is 55 km. Main tributaries of the lake are the Chipman River, River Cree, Fond du Lac River and Souter River. The Black Lake is drained by the Fond du Lac River west to Lake Athabasca back.

The settlement Black Lake is located on the northwest shore of the lake near the spot where the Fond du Lac River flows.

Fauna

The following species of fish living in the Black Lake: Walleye, American perch, pike, American lake trout, Arctic grayling, Coregonus, the Redhorse Catostomus commersonii and Catostomus catostomus and burbot.
