Black Rain (novel)

Black Rain (Japanese黒い 雨, Kuroi ame ) is a novel by the Japanese author Masuji Ibuse of 1965, which deals with the aftermath of the atomic bombing of Hiroshima for the affected people and the Japanese self-image.

The book tells everyday stories from the lives of the residents of a small village on the edge of country ravaged by nuclear fire on August 6, 1945 Hiroshima city. They suffer in the following months and years, not only in physical and mental injuries, but also from discrimination by their own healthy compatriots.

The novel is one of the most famous in the western world works of Japanese literature. He was filmed by Shohei Imamura and also has the Hollywood thriller Black Rain (1989 ) affected.
