Blackadore Caye

Blackadore Caye is an island off the coast of Belize. It is part of the Belize District. The island is privately owned.

Blackadore Caye is one of the 450 islands of the Belize Barrier Reef. It is located west of Ambergris Caye. The 0.4 km ² large island has a rather unusual form: it is about 3.5 km long and at its widest point, only 190 m wide. On charts of the 17th century, the island is listed as Cayo Sumba and is still referred to as such in Spanish today.

2005 Blackadore Caye was purchased for 1.75 million USD by Jeff Gram and Leonardo DiCaprio, who want to build there, along with the Four Seasons hotel chain resort. Since then (as of 2014) have begun no work.
