Bladder fiddle

The Devil's Violin, also Deiwelsgeije, Bumbass or called (especially in the Sarn Valley ) begging violin is a rhythm and noise instrument. In folk music at Carnival parades, is used in the Zampern or wedding showers

The original instrument was a simple musical bow, an air filled animal bubble stuck between its curved wooden stick and the string at one end as a resonance in the 17th century. Is the rod firmly and straight, the classification was stick zither. The string has been deleted or struck with an object.

Today the devil violin consists of a wooden rod, which should not exceed the height of the player who wears various percussion instruments (eg pool, tambourine, clave, tambourine) and is mostly covered with one to three strings. Previously discarded household items were mostly from fixed plate on wooden stick. Often the devil violin is adorned by a devil or Kasper head at the tip of the rod. The instruments are beaten with a mallet, small incisions it allow simultaneous plucking the strings. Means stomping sounds by hand basin and rattles the typical sound of the devil violin.
