Blanice (Sázava)

The Blanice also Vlašimská Blanice ( German Blanitz ) is a left tributary of the Sázava in the Czech Republic.

It rises south of the village Blanická, community rodnĂ in Okres Tábor. The source of Blanice lies at an altitude of 673 m nm in the nature park Polánka on the northeast slope of the hill Batkovy ( 721 m). On its run north the places Dolni Hrachovice, Blanice, Mladá Vožice, Šebířov, Skrýšov, Kamberk, Předbořice and Louňovice pod are Blaníkem. There the Blanice flows past (631 m) in meanders at the western foot of Velky Blanik. Downstream through the villages of Ostrov, Hradiště, Polánka, Znosim, Vlašim and Libež. East of the community Všechlapy crosses the motorway A1 at the foot of Hurka ( 433 m) the river.

After 66 kilometers, the Blanice between Soběšín and Český Šternberk opens at an altitude of 302 m nm towards the settlement Čejkovice in the Sázava. The river overcomes a difference in altitude of 371 meters and has a catchment area of 543 km ².
