Blanquillo is a city in the center of Uruguay.

Geography

Location

It is located in the eastern part of the department of Durazno in the sectors 6 and 13 north of the city lies a few kilometers away La Paloma, while Las Palmas can be found in the west of Aguas Buenas and San Jorge and in the east-southeast.

Mineral resources

In blanquillo kaolin deposits are present.

Infrastructure

Blanquillo lies on a railway line through which it is also connected to the southern Rossell y Rius and Sarandi del Yi. Furthermore, the Ruta 43 runs through the town.

Population

Blanquillo had female in the census in the year 2011 1.084 inhabitants, of which 539 male and 545.
