Blasia pusilla

The Blasiaceae are a family of liverworts with only two types and are now placed in a separate class of Blasiopsida.

Features

The thallus is simply built and has at the bottom two rows of lamellar scales. The construction of the gametophyte - sporophyte compound and the Blepharoplasten similar to the Marchantiopsida. The spermatozoids are built the same as that of Marchantia and the Sphaerocarpales.

System

Outer systematics

The systematic position of the Blasiaceae is not finally resolved. Because of the gametophyte - sporophyte connection the family by some authors will be provided to Marchantiopsida. Other authors Blasia because studies of the 25S rDNA in the Metzgeriales while pedigrees with the trnL intron Blasia to appear as Entwicklungsast own, which is why they are kept as a separate class.

The class consists of two monotypic genera:
