Blavatnik School of Government

The Blavatnik School of Government at the University of Oxford was founded in 2010. At their students are prepared for work in the public, such as in the government sector, in service to organizations and occupations in the economy.

History

The school was made ​​possible by a donation of £ 75 million of the American businessman, billionaire and namesake Leonard Blavatnik. At the donation amount is the University a further £ 26 million to build the school until the fall of 2015 near the former Radcliffe Observatory in Oxford. The architectural design of the provided building was created in 2011 by Herzog & de Meuron from Basel in Switzerland. Because of the size of the buildings there were in 2013 various protests by residents.

Trial operation
