Blind Date (Band)

Blind Date was a nine-member pop band, which was founded in Frankfurt in 1984. The initial formation of Blind Date consisted of Uwe Schlürmann († July 11, 2013 ) (vocals and guitar), Peter Koch (percussion ), Matthias Baumgardt (guitar), James Michael Griffin (keyboard), Amy & Elaine Goff (vocals ), Mark Austria (guitar, bass and vocals ), Roman waste stream (saxophone) and Bruce Kent (drums). Amy & Elaine Goff (vocals), Uwe Schlürmann (vocals and guitar) and Peter Cook (percussion): Starting in 1986, the band was reduced to four members. These were partly supported by session musicians Christian Felke (saxophone, later played for, among other things Rain Fendrich ) and Lothar Krell (keyboards, both from 1978 live musicians in the band Supermax ).

The band's name stems from the fact that its members have met by chance. The debut single Your Heart Keeps Burning in 1985 in the Federal Republic a hit and reached number 17 in the singles charts. Appeared in 1986, the LP Dreamworld. Most of the tracks were composed by Peter Koch and Matthias Baumgartner. In three of the tracks the music of James Michael Griffin was written, the texts were written by Amy & Elaine Goff. Both successor Singles How did You get to Me and " Hit the Road Jack " flopped, prompting the band apart. In 1992 he released again a remix of Hit the Road Jack, albeit with only moderate success.

Amy and Elaine Goff were backing singers for Meat Loaf, Christian Felke studio saxophonist and since 1998 member of the rock band Jazz Scales. Uwe Schlürmann since 1996, lead singer of the country band Tumbleweed.

The German dance project Lazard Your Heart Keeps Burning coverte in spring 2007 and could thus be placed at the top of the German Dance Charts.
