BlizzCon

BlizzCon is a show of the game manufacturer Blizzard Entertainment. Topics are mainly the three games series Warcraft, StarCraft and Diablo.

General Information

BlizzCon will take place ( in the years 2006 and 2012 exception) at the Anaheim Convention Center (California, USA) since 2005 year. You will have been used primarily to showcase new games and game content.

Players often get special items as part of a so-called goodie bags that make them in the game as the visitors. 2005, for example, received a baby Murloc as a pet for World of Warcraft. In addition, participants will usually also codes for the next beta version for future Blizzard Entertainment games.

The last BlizzCon was held on 8 and 9 November 2013 again at the Anaheim Convention Center. The event was also followed by a ( paid ) live stream circuit on the internet.

On January 25, 2012 Blizzard has announced that 2012 no BlizzCon will be held to refer to the publications of Diablo 3, StarCraft II: Heart of the Swarm and World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria to be able to concentrate.

A similar event is the Blizzard Worldwide Invitational, which takes place in other countries. The last Blizzard Worldwide Invitational was held on 28 and 29 June 2008. Currently, no other Blizzard Worldwide Invitational is planned.
