Blood knot

The blood knot is a term used when fishing knots. It is used to connect two ends of cord similar strength and is mostly used for thin strings (eg, nylon ). Each side should be at least five turns, before they are pushed into the middle of the eye.

Modifications

  • If the end is not put through the middle, but the last winding around both strands and then each ( left and right) of the first winding through it, creating a "variable blood knot". See: How to Tie the Adjustable Bend YouTube video ( german)
  • The clinch knot is used for attaching the fish hook and is similar to a half blood knot. The end is inserted through the eye from the eye of the fish hook and by the Bay.
