Blues Magoos

The Blues Magoos were an American psychedelic rock band.

History

Was founded in the mid-1960s quintet in Bronx, New York City, initially under the name " Bloos Magoo ". After many very successful performances in the then popular clubs like "The Nite Owl" and " Cafe Wha " they got a record deal and released in November 1966 their first album " Psychedelic Lollipop". The resulting released single " We Is not Got Nothing Yet " became a hit, reaching # 5 on the U.S. charts.

After two more albums ( "Electronic Comic Book" in 1967 and " Basic Blues ", 1968), the group split up again. In the early 1970s there was again a short-lived group called "Blues Magoos ", but in which only one member of the original formation was present.

" Peppy Castro " took over in 1970, a role in the musical Hair and played in various bands. As a songwriter, he created songs for Kiss or Cher.
