Blutfahne

Blood flag was the official name for that copy of the swastika flag, which when attempted Hitler coup against the national government, the march called by the Nazis on the Feldherrenhalle in Munich on 9 November 1923 was carried by the followers of Hitler. It was made into a cult object of the NSDAP.

The term already used in the Holy Roman Empire of the blood flag captured the Nazi party for their rituals.

Formation

When the US-led Hitler and Ludendorff attempted coup on 9 November 1923 in Munich, it came to the residence street in front of Feldherrenhalle an exchange of fire with the Bavarian police, in which 16 National Socialists, four policemen and an uninvolved passerby died. Supposedly soaked the blood of this shot SA men Bauriedl Andreas, Anton Heche Berger and Lorenz Ritter von Stransky - Griffenfeld a swastika flag, which was carried by Heinrich Wilhelm Trambauer. Use as a relic

The last time in public, the flag was used in the convocation ceremony of the Volkssturm on 18 October 1944. The ceremony was performed by Himmler, were present, among others, Keitel, Guderian, Lammers and Bormann.
