Boardercross

As Snowboard Cross (also boardercross, SBX or BoarderX ) refers to a snowboard competition in which a group of at least four riders against each other overcome a downhill run at the same time. In general, four snowboarders start, two of which ascend to the next round. Started placed side by side from a start box. The track is prepared usually quite narrow and with various challenges ( hills, curves, paragraphs, lowering, tapers ) and different angles of inclination to call for the driving skill of the participants.

Due to the narrow route collisions between the racers are not uncommon, which is why these races are with extensive body armor and motocross -style helmets with chin guard.

The competition is for the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin in the Olympic Winter Games program.

Since this form of competition is very attractive and provides interesting TV pictures, including whitewater kayak races are organized according to the same schema and also referred to as boardercross for some time.
