Boarding house

A guest house is a mostly separate area of a building or a separate building, which is used for temporary accommodation of guests. These buildings are not continuously inhabited or farmed in the rule. Most guesthouses are run by local authorities or large companies.

History

The guest house is an invention of the 17th century. In upper class it was then customary to accommodate guests not on its own premises, but in our purpose built guest houses. These nights were necessary because guests still took at that time on long journeys by coach and could not leave on the same day.

Even today, politicians and heads of state will be accommodated in guest houses for example.
