Bob Christo

Bob Christo (* around 1940 when Robert John Christo, † March 20, 2011 in Bangalore, Karnataka ) was an Australian actor of Hindi film.

Career

Bob Christo was a civil engineer and had his first contact with the film industry in the construction of film sets. Construction projects took him to Rhodesia, South Africa and Oman. As he waited for an Omani work permit, he had to be out of the country and therefore went to Bombay in 1977. By chance, he came there again with filmmakers in contact and made his debut in a villain role in Sanjay Khan's Abdullah (1980).

Being white with muscular body and a shaved head, he was predestined for negative and violent roles, but also embodied British officers in period films. In addition to Tom Alter, who could cover a wider spectrum of roles because of his flowing Hindi, and his compatriot Nadia Christ was the only foreigner who has played a significant number roles in Indian films.

Bob Christo occurred most recently in 2003 in a film together and then worked as a yoga teacher in Bangalore. He was married and had five children.

Christ died at the age of 72 of a heart attack.
