Bob Gruen

Bob Gruen ( born 1945 in New York City ) is an American photographer who is best known for his images of popular musicians. Gruen has worked with other musicians such as John Lennon, Led Zeppelin, The Rolling Stones, Elton John and Tina Turner.

Life

Gruen was self-taught in photography. His first professional photo of a musician was at the Newport Folk Festival in 1965, when Green landed a photo pass and a photo of Bob Dylan's shot. He then worked for many years as a freelancer.

He became famous especially in the 1970s as a personal photographer of John Lennon and Yoko Ono. Among other things, he shot the iconic photo Lennon in a T -shirt with the words " New York City".

For the magazine rock scene he accompanied as a photographer punk and New Wave bands like the New York Dolls, Blondie and the Ramones on their tours.
