Bob McLeod (comics)

Bob McLeod ( born August 9, 1951 in Tampa, Florida) is an American comic book artist.

Life and work

McLeod began after graduating from Auburn University and the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale to work in the 1970s as a professional cartoonist. He is active both as a pencil or as a technical pen.

McLeod's graphic work includes, among other signatories activities ( " runs " ) for appearing in DC comic book series Action Comics in the early 1990s, which is about the adventures of the superhero Superman, as well as for appearing in Marvel Comics series Spider -Man, Star Wars and New Mutants. The latter was even largely defined by McLeod, as he was the first artist who took designed by author Chris Claremont concept into images. Among the most famous stories McLeod (co-) visualized include the Spiderman Story Craven's Last Hunt ( " Craven 's Last Hunt ") and the Superman story crisis around the clinker red kryptonite ( "Crisis of the Crimson Kryptonite " )

Among the artists with whom McLeod has often worked with in the past include the writers Chris Claremont and Roger Stern, and artist Mike Zeke.

In recent years, McLeod has a children's book titled Superhero ABC written and drawn, and illustrated several issues of the series The Phantom for the Swedish publisher Egmont.
