Bobby Lord

Bobby Lord ( born January 6, 1934 in Sanford, Florida; † February 16, 2008 in Stuart, Florida ) was an American country and rockabilly singer and songwriter and television presenter.

Life

Childhood and youth

Born in Sanford, Florida, the family soon moved to Tampa Bobby Lords. While he completed his high school years here, he had his first own local television program that Bobby Lord Home Folks show. Actually, he was invited on the show as a guest, but soon he took over the show and got quite a one-hour Saturday evening show.

He had his first major appearance on the television program Paul Whiteman in New York because of a talent competition won. 1953 demo section Lords handed the composer Boudleaux Bryant to the producer Don Law further, who worked at the Columbia Records. Shortly after Columbia took Lord under contract. His first single was in 1955 with No More, No More, No More! And Why Were You Only Fooling Me? published on the B-side. In the following years he was able to record with country and rockabilly songs like Everybody's Rockin ' But Me, Beautiful baby and I'm The Devil Who Made Her successes again and again. At the same time he became a member of the Ozark Jubilee, a TV show directed by Red Foley.

Career

As the Ozark Jubilee was deposed in 1960, he moved to Nashville, Tennessee, where he had the opportunity, at the Grand Ole Opry, the most successful and well-known radio show in America to occur. Until the mid- 1970s, he should remain a member of the Opry. In 1961 he moved from Columbia to Hickory Records, where he published until 1967 drives. He then joined the record label again, this time to Decca Records, where he continues to get top 10 and top 20 chart positions. In addition, he hosted his own television show, the Bobby Lord show.
