Stuart is a city and also the county seat of Martin County in the U.S. state of Florida with 15,593 inhabitants ( 2010).

Geography

Stuart is located on the St. Lucie River, just before its confluence with the Intracoastal Waterway and Atlantic Ocean. The city is located about 5 km south east of Port St. Lucie and 160 kilometers north of Miami.

History

1893-1895 was the venue name in Potsdam. This name came from Otto Stypmann, a former landowner in the area of ​​present-day town of Stuart, a native of Potsdam in Brandenburg.
