Bobby Short

Bobby Short ( * 1924 in New York City; † March 21, 2005 ) was an American singer and pianist.

Short was the ninth of ten children. Already in 1936 he appeared in New York night clubs. In the 1950s, Short was very popular. With the decline of nightlife and the rise of the Beatles in the 1960s, the interest fell on him, but he managed a comeback in 1968. Since that year he played regularly at the Carlyle Hotel in New York. Self led him to the White House. Short played in the 1980s in the movies Splash - A Virgin on the hook and Hannah and her sisters.

Short died at the age of 80 from leukemia.
