Bockelwitz is a district of the Saxon town Leisnig in the district of Central Saxony. Until January 1, 2012 Bockelwitz was a kreisangehorige community.

Geography

The Bockelwitz located in Saxon Castle and Heathland bordered to the south by the Freiberger Mulde. On Bockel witzer hallway is the deserted village Kreischau.

The place can be reached via the connection Leisnig the A14 well. Nearby towns are Mügeln (about 7 km) and chub (approx. 14 km). Near Bockelwitz runs trough the bike path.

History

The place Bockelwitz was first documented in 1215. In 1797 the church Bockelwitz was completed, which is still used today.

Most incorporations in the area of ​​today's community Bockelwitz took place on 1 July 1950. Börtewitz was incorporated in 1991 and Naunhof 1992. Polkenberg with all its districts since 1999 belongs to the municipality.
