Bode Valley Gondola Lift

The Bode Valley Cable Car is a cable car in the Bode Valley near Thale in the Harz Mountains. You from January to October. The cable car was built in 1969-1970 in collaboration by the Czech Combine Transporta Chrudim and the PGH " Elektrotherm Quedlinburg ". The cable car was inaugurated on October 7, 1970 and was originally intended for use on the Dresden TV Tower. First train

Since the original Czech plant manufacturer no longer exists, spare parts could be procured only very expensive. Therefore, it was decided to build a new railway. After the season in 2011 for the web has been completely removed. The gondolas are sold together, the supports and the complete drive system were dismantled and the most part scrapped. Then both valley and mountain station were gutted and modernized.

The new railway, which was opened on April 21, 2012, cost 4.7 million euros. It was converted to a gondola, but it had to be built five new pillars (formerly three). In only 21 cabins can accommodate up to six people. The burgundy - red of eleven nacelles modeled after the in the 1990s newly acquired gondolas. Ten gondolas in green color have a bullet-proof glass floor. The 270 - horsepower drive is now in the base station. Storage space for unused gondolas located only in the mountain station. The train overcomes a height difference of 244 meters and a driving length of 728 meters.
