Bodo Schmidt

Bodo Schmidt ( born September 3, 1967 in Preetz ) is a former German football player.

Career

The former DFB National Players Youth (3 inserts for the U16 national team ) began his career with TSV Rot-Weiß Niebüll, for which he interrupted by a one-year stint at the TSB Flensburg until 1987 played. Fritz Bischoff, the former coach of the Schleswig -Holstein Football Association, undertook Schmidt 1987 on the amateur side of Bayern Munich. Under coach Jupp Heynckes was the defender even a few times in the first team squad, but never came for Bayern in the Bundesliga for use. In 1989, Bodo Schmidt for SpVgg Unterhaching, for which he received his first games in professional football. A total of 27 matches played Schmidt for Upper Bavaria in the 2nd Bundesliga. Two years later brought him Borussia Dortmund in the Bundesliga. In 1996, when he left the Borussia, he looked back to 116 games and had become a seasoned defender. Even at the 1 FC Cologne, he spent two years supporting force in defense. The end of 1998 he moved after a brief interlude in the Oberliga SCB Prussia Cologne 1.FC Magdeburg, with whom he played in the 2001/ 02 season in the Regionalliga Nord. At the end of the season for the descent Magdeburg stable and Schmidt moved to Flensburg 08, where he ended his active career in 2005 and as head coach continued his work in Flensburg. He was, until the end of the 2006/07 season coach of Flensburg 08 he is the coach of SV Frisia 03 Risum -Lindholm since 2007.
