Province

Boende is the capital of the district Tshuapa, in the Equateur province, in southern northwest of the Democratic Republic of Congo. It is located at Tshuapa River and east of the city of Mbandaka. In Boende the national language Lingala is mainly spoken. According to an estimate in 2010, the population was 33 765 of the place.

The city is served by a domestic airport with the IATA code NBB to the flight network in the country, and there are ferry services from Boende about Mbandaka to the capital city Kinshasa.
