Boerewors

Boerewors ( Afrikaans for " farmer sausage ") is a rolled-up into a large snail barbecue or sausage. It consists classically of finely chopped beef, pork and game meat (for example, antelopes, zebra ) and is strongly spiced, among other things, thyme, coriander, nutmeg and Worcestershire sauce.

The Boerewors is an important part of a typical South African and Namibian barbecue food, the braais. A typical combination would Boerewors, pap Mielie ( maize porridge ) and Chakalaka (spicy vegetable dish ).
