Bohumil Kubišta

Bohumil Kubišta ( born August 21, 1884 in Vlčkovice, † November 27, 1918 in Prague) was a Czech painter.

Life

After attending secondary school 1896-1903 he attended until 1905 the School of Applied Arts in Prague. After studying in Florence in 1906 and 1907, he returned to Prague. There he first took part in an exhibition and joined the group " Osma " ( " The Eight" ) to. The preparation of a stay in Paris in 1910 joined on an exhibition of the group of " independents " in Prague.

1911 visited the members of the artist group Die Brücke Ernst Ludwig Kirchner, Otto Mueller Bohumil Kubišta in Prague. In August of the same year Kubišta closed at the bridge and took part in the 1911 exhibition of the Neue Secession in Berlin and 1912 at the Special Federal in Cologne.

During the First World War he served, among other things in Pula, Vienna, Jaromere, Ljubljana and Slovakia. For war successes, he was awarded the Order of Leopold.

Bohumil Kubišta died of the Spanish flu.
