Bohuslav Matěj Černohorský

Bohuslav Matěj Černohorský (* February 16, 1684 in Nymburk, † July 1, 1742 in Graz) was a Bohemian composer and organ teacher.

Černohorský studied in Prague theology and entered the Franciscan Order in 1703 and worked since 1715 as the rain Chori ( Padre Boemo ) to Sant ' Anna in Padua. After 1728, he remained as an organ teacher back in Prague and in 1739 music director of the St. James Parish Church.

From his motets, litanies, vespers, a Regina coeli and Preludes and Fugues for Organ have survived. Much of his work was destroyed in a fire in 1754.
