Bohuslav Šťastný

Bohuslav Šťastný ( born April 23, 1949 in Chotěboř, Czechoslovakia ) is a former ice hockey player who played for many years in the Czechoslovak Extraliga for Tesla Pardubice of the Czechoslovak national team on the left wing.

Career

Bohuslav Šťastný completed during his time in the top division of Czechoslovakia 504 league games in 15 seasons for Tesla Pardubice. Although he was a more defensive striker, he scored 241 goals here. In 1973, he won the Czechoslovak Cup with Pardubice. At the end of his career Šťastný received permission to move to the West. Together with Vladimír Martinec, he joined the ESV Kaufbeuren, for whom he played until 1985 and Martinec and there resigned from active competition.

Addition to his success at club level Eduard Novák also had great success in international championships. With the Czechoslovak Mr. selection, he won two medals at the Winter Olympics and six medals at World Championships. His first appointment to the national team, he received the Hockey World Cup 1971 ( silver medal ) and took off this time regularly participates in the World Cup. A year later he was appointed to the squad for the 1972 Winter Olympics and won the bronze medal. 1976 was followed by another at the Olympics, where he won the silver medal with the Czechoslovak selection. In the same year he also belonged to the squad of Czechoslovakia at the Canada Cup. In the national team, he scored 73 goals in 188 international matches for Czechoslovakia.
