The Bolgenach Hittisau

The Bolgenach is a left tributary of the Weißach and about 29 kilometers long. It rises on German territory south of the Riedberger horn. Then she makes a big arc northwest towards Balderschwang and transgresses the west the border to Austria, where she creates Balderschwanger valley. Now it flows west to the reservoir Bolgenach north Hittisau. There they changed their course to the north and empties finally 2km south of Sulzberg in the Weißach.

It is known the valley for the old wooden bridges. With the comma - bridge from 1720, here is also the oldest wooden bridge in Vorarlberg. It was first mentioned in 1514 in a document. Another wooden bridge is the bridge casting of 1792.
