Bolkowo

Bolkowo [ bɔl'kɔvɔ ] ( German Bolkow ) is a village in the Polish West Pomeranian Voivodeship. It is located 19 km south of Białogard ( Belgard ) in the powiat Świdwiński and belongs to the rural community Połczyn Zdrój (Bad Polzin ).

Geographical location

Bolkowo is located on the Bukowa ( Buckow ), a small mill stream which flows near Tychówko ( Woldisch Tychow ) in the Parsęta ( Persante ). The place is easily accessible due to its location on the Province Road 163 ( droga wojewódzka 163) between Białogard and Połczyn Zdrój. The nearest train station Połczyn Zdrój twelve kilometers away.

History

Already in 1569 a family of Wolde in a Lehnbrief as part owner of the Pomeranian village Bolkow (also: Belkow ) called. Until the 19th century, the village belongs, with its outworks Augusthof and Riegen (or defects ) until 1928 Strutzmin ( which then came to Zwirnitz ( Świerznica ) ), the family of Manteuffel. Later, and until 1945, it is the property of the von Woedtke.

In 1939 lived 286 inhabitants in 70 households in Bolkow. In addition to the estate were still 8 smallholders resident.

Until 1945 the village was Bolkow in Belgard county and belonged to the district of Ball Mountain (now Biała Góra ), for the civil registry district Wutzow ( Osówko ) and the area of ​​the District Court of Bad Polzin. Last official overseer was Georg Gebhardt, last registrar Albert Kühn.

Beginning in March 1945 Bolkow was occupied by troops of the Red Army. The town became part of Poland, and the ancestral population was expelled. Today, the village Bolkowo is a district of the rural community Połczyn Zdrój and now resides in powiat Świdwiński.

Church

Bolkow had no church of its own, but belonged to Kirchdorf Woldisch Tychow (now Tychówko ). Thus it was assigned in the Protestant Church of the Old Prussian Union the church Belgard of the Church Province of Pomerania. The church patronage in the parish Woldisch Tychow shared the landowner of the parishioners places. For Bolkow it took last true family of Woedtke, the last German pastor was Alfred Bidder.
