Bolloré

Bolloré is a French conglomerate headquartered in Puteaux, France. It was founded in 1822 by René Bolloré and was temporarily named Odet Cascadec Bolloré ( OCB ). The number of employees was 37 886 worldwide in 2011. In fiscal year 2011, worldwide sales amounted to approximately EUR 8.491 billion.

Among the fields of activity of the Group is one among others the oil industry; in this area is the company's second largest French market participants. In Germany, the Netherlands and Switzerland Bolloré maintains 71 service stations, which operate under the name Calpam. Bolloré is also active in the fields of paper making and logistics. The cigarette papers in particular are known under the brand name OCB.

An explanation of the former company name Odet Cascadec Bolloré: Odet is a river in Brittany and Cascadec is the name of a mill that stood near the second plant.

Current CEO is Vincent Bolloré.

Batteries and electric car subsidiary BatScap

With the EDF ( 20%) Bolloré (80 %) has established the subsidiary BatScap which is to develop and manufacture lithium -polymer batteries and electric cars. First automotive development project is the Bluecar.

Criticism

The direct investment in oil palm plantations of the partially belonging to the Bolloré Group Cameroonian former state-owned company Socapalm accelerating the local destruction of primary forest. Further criticism relates to the support of the establishment of the electronic voter register LEPI in Benin in 2010. This included 200,000 potential voters of the presidential election on March 13, 2011 and allowed the narrow re- election of Benin President Boni Yayi.
