The stadium ŠRC Bonifika (full name: Stadium Športno rekreativni center Bonifika, German stadium sports and leisure center Bonifika ) is a football stadium in the Slovenian port of Koper. The local football club FC Koper wears in the sports complex of its home games. Currently it offers on its four stands 4047 seats.

History

The stadium was opened in 1947 and is part of the municipal sports complex. In addition to the stadium, this includes a track and field facility, a gymnasium, an indoor swimming pool, artificial turf fields, tennis courts, volleyball and basketball courts and a skate park. In 1962 was the first conversion. At the time, the stadium had 3557 seats. In 4500 the courts capacity increased in the expansion in 1996. In February 2002, the national football team of Uruguay was in the stadium for a match against the Slovenes as a guest. The first international match in the stadium ended with a 0:2 for the South Americans.

An extensive renovation of the stadium took place in 2010. The sports facility was adapted to the requirements of UEFA. The main and the VIP grandstand behind the goal are covered with a roof. The Hintertorrang steel pipe stands in the West consists of two parts. Behind her, a large video scoreboard is set up. In the middle of the rank is the press box. On the side of the opposite stand, also made of steel tube, the two substitutes' benches. All ranks are uniformly equipped with new plastic seats. Inside, eight dressing rooms were furnished. The masts of the floodlight tower 43 meters in height and have an illuminance of 1200 lux The playing field has been increased by 1.65 meters. The reconstruction lasted eight months and cost the city of Koper nine million euros.
