Bonne projection

The Bonn ash projection is a cylindrical map projection of the fake - French cartographer Rigobert Bonne and mathematician. He developed this heart-shaped projection of the Earth in 1752. Sometimes the Bonn ash projection is also known as modified Flamsteed projection.

The Bonn ash projection is characterized by its surface fidelity. Central meridian and parallels are isometrically. Here, a circle of latitude is always the contact circle and lies transversely (perpendicular to the Earth's axis ) to. Because of their loyalty, the projection surface was initially popular, but it was later used for their distortions again only slightly.

The Bonn ash projection was used as the basis for the Dufour Map, the oldest official map of Switzerland from 1840.

Another application of the projection was the outline map of Central Europe ( Bonne projection ) 1: 750,000 of the Austrian Military Geographical Institute under the Josephine Francisco - state recording.
