Bonoman

The Kingdom of Bono ( Abron on: Bonoman ) was an early kingdom of Akanvölker, created in 1295 (according to other sources to about 1400) in the Brong- Ahafo Region of Ghana today.

About Bono early trading contacts of the great empires of the Sahel ran to the Akan and the coastal peoples of this part of West Africa, which was so well connected to the trans-Saharan trade. Its capital was Bono - Manso. 1723 Bono - Manso was conquered by the Asantehene ( Ashantikönig ) Opoku Ware I and the Aschantireich incorporated. Many inhabitants fled to the neighboring Tekimanregion. 1740 this Tekiman bono kingdom was incorporated into the Ashantireich.
